The Wool Wizards

The newest addition to the Jim & Jane family, McIntyre wool have quickly become a favourite amongst staff and customers for their gorgeous merino wool pieces in fresh colours that we can't help but smile at. We spoke to husband and wife duo Raquel Boedo (Co-founder & Creative Director) and Ned Scholfield (Co-founder & General Manager) to get to find out what makes them tick.

Where do you call home? 

Melbourne

Have you always been a designer? 

No, both of our backgrounds is in wholesale fashion. Raquel was working in homewares & Ned worked for Australian brand Crumpler as the sales manager.

What was the last great book you read?  

Raquel – Get your Shit together, Sarah Knight

What does sustainability in fashion meant to you?

As a consumer, buying quality over quantity.

For brands I think it's important to care about all things like packaging, shipping, and the raw materials used in production.

At McIntyre we use 100% Australian Merino wool in all our garments, this is a sustainably grown natural fibre that is bio-degradable and we love it!

Dream holiday destination? 

A road trip through California with lots of food and wine. Or a food orientated scooter trip through Ubud in Bali. 

If an out of towner was visiting, where would you take them?

To dinner at Kisume restaurant, followed by cocktails at Beneath Driver Lane (both located in Melbourne CBD).

Raquel – Colourful, eclectic, comfortable

Obviously, McIntyre, however we also love Australian mid-century furniture!!
